Learning doesn’t stop when you become a teacher. It is the kind of career where you will need to keep on learning long into the future. There is always more you could do or learn about that will help you to become a better teacher. Here are some of the things you can do:
- Talk to other teachers. Don’t just talk to the most experienced ones either – everyone will have things they can teach you. Ask everyone for their opinions and talk to them in general about education and any ongoing discourses around your subjects.
- Become more organised. You can always learn how to be better organised and manage your time as well as possible. Over time, you will develop your skills so you can better prioritise.
- Be receptive to new ideas. It can be easy to think that as a teacher with lots of experience you know everything. Remain open-minded and take on new concepts.
